“ This was our first time at Shantytown and we loved it. We both went no frills burger and I added bacon. We both agree it was one of the better burgers we’ve had in a long time. The staff is friendly and efficient and the atmosphere is awesome. Combine all that with the fair prices and you get one of the better values in the area. “ We LOVE Shantytown! The main reasons that we love our neighborhood bar n' grill are the following: 1.) The crew including Laura, Cindy, Kathy, Sarah, Abby, Lisa, the kitchen chefs, and everyone else (sorry that I do not know everyone's names!) (And forgive me if I misspelled anyone's name!) They all work so hard to provide the quickest and best service! When we dine in a booth, we usually sit in Laura's section. She has our water and menus over to us before we are even settled in our seats. And she tells us the specials and answers questions without missing a beat and with a cute sense of humor! Kathy does the same thing in her section too! Kathy greets people and helps them find a place to dine, especially if Laura's section is filled up. They all make us feel welcome and happy to have us! (ya' just want to hug 'em!) Plus Cindy, Sarah and Lisa make the best drinks. They are so efficient while being so friendly, I feel like I am in a Cheers episode! They concoct the best libations! And they have amazing recall; don't be surprised if they ask you if you want the same beverage you had last time! Plus it is magic watching them multitask during their busy times! (They are magicians!) The kitchen chefs are outstanding! I love watching them through the kitchen "window". They are so efficient and hard working! 2.) The drinks and food are FANTASTIC! Plus the weekly specials are very, very good! They make the best soups! You just can't go wrong with anything on the menu, especially the specials! 3.) The clientele. It is so fun to be among the "regulars". All are so friendly! It is a great place to sit at the bar and socialize. You will hear some great stories. “ Great shanty burger and tater tots. I was asked how I wanted the burger and ordered it medium rare. Like many who order their burgers this way I'm accustomed to ending up with a medium well and just accept it. I actually heard one of the chefs comment that a burger was too done for medium rare and that it needed to be remade. I confirmed it was mine and enjoyed an excellent medium rare. In my many years of burger eating this may have happened in kitchens before without me realizing it but I am extremely appreciative in this case. Thank you! ”

“ Great little restaurant. The shantytown burger and spiced cake were both tasty. The cheese curds and tater tots were also done well. We had the daily special which was a chicken sandwich, sauce was lovely. Reasonable prices, would highly recommend! ”

“ Really good place. I ordered the Shanty burger which had cheddar and Swiss cheese along with crispy bacon and guacamole. The overall burger was really great with the only lackluster component being the guacamole. This the kind of place where you get a bacon cheeseburger and it’s solid. Moreover, the service was outstanding. Our waiter was fun & quirky and made it a great experience. Despite it being a small place, the Christmas lights on the ceiling made it seem really homely. I would definitely come back. ”
